Most people -- based on the statistics I've seen -- visit this site looking for one of a very small number of things:
The movie starring Nicolas Cage and Meg Ryan. No, I don't have any way to send you autographed photos, nor do I want to.
The City of Angels, which is the true, legal name of Angels Camp, CA. Those folks to the south just think they're in the city of angels.
Something having to do with the vampire on the television show Buffy The Vampire Slayer. He makes more sense on Bones.
A few of you look for that horrid follow-up to the Brandon Lee film. He's lucky he didn't have to do the pic.
If you're looking for any of those things, you've come to the wrong place. Sorry. The links are the most you'll get out of this site.
Simple. Back when Goldrush World Access brought this new-fangled series of tubes to Angels Camp, where I worked for the family business, I had this strange idea for creating a virtual shopping center out of the whole town. I bought the domain and haven't really done much more than use it for my own whimsical purposes ever since. At this point, I have no interest in selling the domain, so unless you're prepared to make a serious offer with more than five zeros to the left of the decimal point, don't bother me.
With that said...
Experts Exchange. I've never run into a tech-related problem that I haven't been able to solve at EE. I'm also the proprietor and chief-bottle-washer for EE Stuff, which gives you an idea of how highly I think of the good people who run EE; they're almost like family.
Calaveras Publishing. My home away from home for most of my life.
Quest. You name it, these folks do it -- and they actually treat you like you're not a complete idiot in the process.
ESPN because, like everyone else in my family, I'm a sports junkie, especially during basketball season.
Google, because they don't bother me with a lot of junk just to find something. I can't help but think of the Republic before the Chancellor went to the Dark Side, though.
Wikipedia, not because I believe everything I read there, but because they are one of the world's greatest time-fillers (or time-wasters, depending on how you look at it).
Jimmy Buffett's site, because while I know most of the songs by heart, I don't know all of them -- and being able to pull one of his lyrics out at the right time is handy.
UC Santa Cruz and AFS don't really need any help from me in getting people to visit their sites, but both are pretty important to me, so I keep them on my bookmarks list.
Anagram AG, my Swedish brother's company. See above for the reason I have a Swedish brother (actually, I have two).
If I come up with any others that I think should be here, I'll add them -- more so I can find them when I'm looking for them than anything else.
